I have zero clue why 4kids decided it was a good idea to completely rewrite the story... the sub and dub are two vastly different experiences. For one, Yami Bakura shows a bit of loyalty towards Yami in this episode; when the Millennium Ring starts acting up, he mentions "anyone who would make an enemy of _him_ is my enemy, as well" while mentioning the Millennium Puzzle, pretty much stating that he's talking about Yami, rather than someone else. From what I've seen, Yami Bakura is also a lot less... one-note evil? In one of the episodes that open Season 5, when he goes to see Kaiba, he states that he only knocked out Mokuba, and that he's fine; he just needed to talk to Kaiba without interference. While in the shitdub, he gloats about how he stole Mokuba's soul. Not sure how knocking out a child is bad but stealing their soul isn't, but whatever 4kids... we been knew your morals were fucked, especially since in the dub you added in an _assassination subplot_ instead of Pegasus simply holding Mokuba hostage and planning to use him as a figurehead for your takeover of KC... not to mention you added in implications that Mokuba was being fed poorly, when in the Japanese version he was Pegasus' (albeit unwilling) GUEST, and Pegasus had specifically ordered that he not be harmed. It's only when Mokuba showed that he was uncooperative that Pegasus simply took his soul to ensure his (and Kaiba's) obedience.

Rewatching these episodes again, its plain to see that 4Kids threw jelly donuts at the wall to see what would stick. Still a great show to rewatch after so long.

Also whoever is playing the game in most of this footage is not playing it well. You should never double jump before going after an enemy. You should jump then dash towards the event, then slash him, then do your double jump and dash back to a platform or towards a new enemy. Every time you slash an enemy your double jump is reset so you can use that to platform your way out of a pitfall. The simplified game loop is this: on the ground you dash towards an enemy, then dash around them to prevent them blocking your attack, then you slash them and your dash to the next enemy. In the air enemies don't block your attacks, so you jump towards them, then you dash at them, then you slash, then you jump towards the next one and dash and repeat. That way you always have a extra double jump to get out of danger.. You can also throw your shuriken at flying enemies to make them fall to the ground, or at ground enemies to simply stun them and prevent them from blocking all together. Even though this video praises the awesome gameplay that this game has it simply is not able to showcase it properly due to lack of competence of the player I'm afraid.. I don't think this game is unforgiving at all.. I think it's a matter of learning the correct way of playing. It is definitely not a unfair game such as dark souls. You just got to get familiar with the patterns and you can play from beginning to end. Though I must say that the final boss is on a different level from the rest of the game. The final boss uses every single thing that the game uses against you all at once and in new combinations. But, the final boss aside, the game isn't unfair at all in my opinion

I remember very vividly asking myself why in the world anyone would like it and thought I was just dumb or something then only found out it was all awful afterwards. It's too bad SAO has better animation than berserk

It's like when you unlock a heavy weapon in another game, see how brutally powerful it is, but horrifically slow compared to your standard sword or daggers. This game forces you to adapt to that sort of gameplay. It's great.

I'm about 4 hours into my first playthrough of Berserk MF and it's fantastic. I love fighting games, and the way you can transition moves and abilities into each other is so fun and rewarding. I doubt some of the cancel combos I've found and have been using are intended, but it doesn't matter to me. It really sucks Berserk has a total of what, 3 games? Someone needs to give Arc System Works the license and let them do what they do best with it. I had been waiting for a polished 2D Dragon Ball fighting game since I was a kid and they made it happen. It's my favorite DB game to date by far. Just imagine the hyper-detailed renders Berserk is known for combined with Arcs polish and ability to breathe life into a piece of art that's normally viewed stationary on a page. Not to mention how Arc does their fan service perfectly. It is genuinely a crime how little Berserk has been represented in games.

The game had excellent art design and setting, but the art design still looks good. But the gameplay is disappointing, something on the level of one-button moussou. It was fashionable to make a great slasher film. Why doesn't anyone take projects like this and make a remake of them?

I played this during my college days. The very first thing that drew me to the game was the name: "Osamu Tezuka", which I knew was the creator of Astro Boy. Honestly just wanted to find the monsters and get all the body parts back for that sweet stat bonuses. I totally lost count until you pointed out how many I went through to reach the final boss. (Not to mention made me remember the trauma of having to do that very, very long input command during the final boss fight.)
